Prince George has long been known as a city where new residents arrive with the intent of staying for 2-5 years, and end up staying for 20. Why? The quality of life is difficult to match, let alone beat! The community is known for its friendliness and the city's ammenities rival that of large urban centres. The lure of business opportunities, the abundance of recreational activities and the lack of congestion, making for quick commutes, makes Prince George an ideal place to be.

Prince George has largely been a resource based community that has recently been exploring and expanding it's diversity. In very recent history, the Prince George Regional Airport became the Prince George International Airport Authority, providing travellers an alternative to the rather congested Vancouver, Edmonton & Calgary Airports.

The labour force is skilled and abundant. Having two major post secondary institutions, the College of New Caledonia and the University of Northern British Columbia, has made for a more diverse labour force as well. Prince George is now home to 3 major call centres: LiveBridge, Synovate and OSI (Opening in July). The latter two are located directly across Brunswick Street from the Bon-Accord building.

Prince George has been enjoying a good deal of growth over recent months. There's been increased retail activity, active tourism development, transportation growth (roads, rail and air), education expansion (approx. 10,000 Post Secondary students) and the introduction of the Northern Medical Program, housing starts and housing price increases.
